Convexity Electronics took home first place at Georgia Tech’s 2025 InVenture Prize with its groundbreaking electronics 3D printer, which streamlines the production of 3D-printed circuit boards. Runner-up NextGenFile impressed judges with a legal tech platform that automates Leave of Absence filings for attorneys, while DivineDrive captured the People’s Choice Award with an all-in-one performance supplement for energy, hydration, and muscle recovery. This year’s competition showcased a diverse range of student innovations poised to make a significant impact across industries.

After months of intense competition, Convexity Electronics has been crowned the 2025 InVenture Prize winner. The team’s groundbreaking invention, an electronics 3D printer for manufacturing 3D-printed circuit boards (PCBs) at scale, promises to improve electronics manufacturing by enabling smaller circuitry, faster lead times, and more compact electronic devices.

Teammates Calla Scotch (materials science and engineering), Anuj Pandey (mechanical engineering), and Atharva Lele (chemical and biomolecular engineering) combined their expertise to develop a technology with the potential to reshape how PCBs are produced. By streamlining the manufacturing process, Convexity Electronics aims to make electronic devices more efficient and accessible across industries.

When asked what winning the InVenture Prize meant to them, the team echoed one another enthusiastically onstage: “We can finally do this!”

For their first-place finish, the team will take home $20,000 and a coveted spot in Georgia Tech’s CREATE-X Startup Launch program, where they will receive mentorship and guidance to help bring their product to market.

“The next step is building more printers,” said Pandey, trophy in hand, “testing out our technology on more boards, and using our connections to start implementing our printers and PCBs. You’ll see us everywhere!”

NextGenFile Earns Second Place for Legal Tech Innovation

Securing second place and a $10,000 prize, NextGenFile impressed judges with their web-based platform that automates Leave of Absence filings for attorneys. By seamlessly integrating with the state of Georgia’s e-filing systems, their platform eliminates manual entry, reduces errors, and provides real-time tracking — saving legal professionals countless hours and ensuring deadlines are met.

“The money we’re getting from the InVenture Prize,” said team member Matt Geuss, “will help us immensely with marketing our product.”

The NextGenFile team — Merritt Blum, Royce Arockiasamy, Matt Geuss, Kara Taylor, Aashni Patel, and Daniel Cseh — identified a major inefficiency in the legal industry and built a solution that simplifies a critical but time-consuming process for attorneys. Their innovation has the potential to improve productivity in law firms and streamline case management across the state.

“It’s surreal,” said Patel. “The people who came out to support us, all the lawyers who have helped us — we really do appreciate all the help we’ve received along the way.”

Audience Votes DivineDrive as People's Choice Winner

The People’s Choice Award, determined by audience voting during the live show, went to DivineDrive, a performance supplement designed to deliver clean energy, rapid hydration, and muscle recovery in a single drink.

Co-founders Ty Thompson (business administration) and Sydney Brown (biomedical engineering) saw a gap in the sports nutrition market and developed DivineDrive as a convenient, all-in-one solution for athletes and active individuals. Their invention captured the audience’s attention, earning them the $5,000 prize and recognition as a fan favorite.

“I just want to thank everybody who supported us and everybody who voted for us,” said Brown. “We’re so grateful, and we can really feel the love tonight, so thank you all so much.”
